Item 01
Soundscapes & ambience
Layered environments for mazes, sets and scenes, built to unsettle rather than just fill the silence.
Most fear enters through the ears. Turn the sound off in a horror film and it becomes a comedy. Dread Works designs the audio that makes the dark feel occupied: the room tone that's slightly wrong, the footsteps that stop when yours do, the low rumble you feel in your chest before anything appears.
We create sound for spaces, screens and headphones, designed alongside the scares so the audio sets up the fright instead of just decorating it.

Procedure
We study the space, the edit or the script: what your audience should hear, and what they shouldn't.
We build a signature sound palette so the whole project sounds like one world.
Sound design, recording and mixing, delivered in the formats your venue, engine or edit needs.
We tune on site or in session, because a sound that works in a studio can die in a warehouse.

Binaural audio is recorded or processed so that, on headphones, sounds seem to come from specific points around the listener, including from behind. It's one of the most effective tools in horror podcasts and audio-led immersive experiences.
Yes. We deliver assets and adaptive stems prepared for middleware such as FMOD or Wwise, working alongside your audio programmer.
